THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is the non-psychoactive precursor to THC found naturally in raw hemp and cannabis plants. In its raw form, THCA does not produce intoxicating effects. When exposed to heat (through smoking, vaping, or cooking), THCA converts to THC through a process called decarboxylation.
